It is impossible to be cynical, even fake-cynical, about Barack Obama. He inspires me like no other public figure ever has.

I’m a conservative Republican whose party has completely abandoned me. And when I hear the candidates on either side talking, all I hear is inconsistent noise generated to pander to the most voters. At least that was the case until I actually started to listen to Barack Obama. I may not agree with all of his policy directions, but it’s become very clear that he’s the only candidate out there who has a consistent vision and has goals that go beyond just getting elected. If we miss this opportunity, then shame on us and we deserve the truckloads of bullshit we’ll get from the alternatives.

Amen, brother David! That’s exactly what Obama is — an amazing opportunity for this country. A chance at redemption.
